Wind Power

There are many different ways in which the planet can create renewable energy. One of those way's is through the use of Wind Power.
There is no doubt that the American people would rather have clean and effiecient energy rather than dirty expensive energy that hurt our planet.
Everyday America is in greater demand of energy. Wind Energy is a great way to meet the demands of the American people. It can also create up to 500,000 jobs which will help us greatly economicaly.
President Bush created a plan to create a 20% gain of wind energy by 2030. This gain will help meet the nations standards. However I do not think it will eliminate our wastefull energy sources.
These wastefull sources dont need to my wiped out by wind energy alone (that would be a lot of Wind Mills) However with all renewable energy technology we can succeed in eliminating it.
These are just some of the statistics about wind energy! while wind energy is better to use in wind-rich areas of the country, it is easier to store the energy for long periods of time rather than fossil fuels.
When I was 15 years old I stayed with my grandparents down in Southern California. I remember there was a wind mill farm. This wind Mill farm went for miles. It was amazing to see these windmills working. At the time I saw these windmills I did not understand the effect they have or could have on our nation. If I was there looking upon them now I would feel good that we are trying to do our part in helping the planet, and in many ways ourselves.

  1. I think wind energy is a great alternative that keeps our environment clean. I also saw wind mill farms in California when I was younger. They went on for what seemed like forever. They take up a lot of space, but it helps keep our environment clean and is less expensive.

  2. There are SO many things that are natural that we should be using for energy. Like water energy too! I do agree though, it would take quite a bit before we actually stop using wasteful resources as well. It would be a lot more economical for sure but you see that number 2030? yeah that's the problem. No instant gratification if we started up on that plan. Nobody likes to think long term.

  3. Comment from Brooks: "I agree with you that wind energy is a great renewable energy resource, and you’re right in saying that we cannot only use wind energy as a power source. I was amazed at the fact that wind energy could be stored much longer than energy we get from fossil fuels, that really surprised me. My question to you is if we could replace any type of energy source we currently use with wind energy, what would it be? I want to know what you think is the most potent energy source we currently use and which one we need to get rid of the fastest."
